Take Waterboy for instance, I used Smartrip to rip the whole DVD to my hard drive, then burned in NERO. Burning is very CPU intensive and may be a problem for those with marginal systems. Average time to take a new movie is 17 minutes encoded to harddrive.I use a Pentium D 820 (2.8Ghz dual core), 1.5 Gb ram, and 160Gb SATA HD. One that I burned on "custom fit" in MYDVD and the other in HQ quality.
DVD+R has more density, last longer "technically" then the DVD-R. NoyaJan 3, 2008, 7:18 AM I've actually read Verbatim single layers vary in quality (while their D/L are some of the best). I've followed all of the recommendations for burning discs by using only Verbatim or TY discs, burning at 4x speeds, and using the best burners on the market. My Dvd Player Skips And Freezes
My Plextor drive supports 16x, and with high quality 16x discs, the discs skip when burned at 8x and above. BTW, DigitalMedia DVD-R's from Circuit City also have those problems, not only at the end, but in the middle and at the beginning, too! I backed Resivor Dogs to a Memorex DVD-R last night and watched it. hmmmm.
- Let me know, thanks.
- In addition to the programs you mentioned, they may to need stop any screensaver and disconnect from the internet if possible.

I have an older DVD player (sony) that doesn't do too well with DVD+Rs but works fine with DVD-Rs. rattman169Jan 3, 2008, 8:58 AM Ok, where to begin, everyone has good info, let's just add a tidbit. I just think that the companies who are manufacturing this disc are using a different dye and it is causing the burning software to do this.... Dvd Freezes No Scratches Can a DVD player be de-magnetized?
I presume, as a DVd/CD read from the inside to outside that it the outside that is the problem. can't stand the thought of watching the movie all over again! I think this time i will get store credit and just wait a while. http://forums.vso-software.fr/burning-playback-issues-dvd-media-guide-read-this-first-t123.html The audio still drops a word every so often (same word/spot every time) I had 2 different ISO files of the movie.
of Memorex DVD-R and tried burning a single layer DVD-5 movie.(Wierd Science-4.02gb) I successfully did a full back up and everything looked great! Why Do Dvds Skip So i was looking at the verbetim disc and notcied they are pretty thin and you can really see through them when holding them up to the light (memorex are thicker), Lots of DVD player will not like those DVD-RW at all. Good Luck!
Dvd Skipping And Freezing
When I play DVDs, my wireless head phones don't work and I do solved Cannot play DVD-RW and DVD-R burned on DVD player on my laptop (or anywhere!) solved i have Could it be that the SuperDrive on this MacBook is broken? My Dvd Player Skips And Freezes Why? Dvd Player Freezes In Middle Of Movie So far I've had pretty good luck with Memorex and Verbatim, but I noticed exactly what you're describing with FujiFilm. @OP: Verbatim disks are among the best, AFAIK.
Set top players seem to be a lot more sensitive to the brand of disc than computers.2. just some times. But I do have a minor gripe, assuming changing the write speed from Max down to 8x doesn't fix things. xohshitztonysbackx Posts: 2Joined: Sat Jan 19, 2008 7:53 pm Top by Cougar_II » Thu Jan 24, 2008 7:01 pm xohshitztonysbackx wrote:Hm...I use a Memorex DVD+R type and it only skips Dvd Player Skipping No Scratches
Jan 16 Choppy playback on magix pro... What's really maddening is, his player is a lower end model in the same prodict line as mine! for $25 at COMP USA. Choppy Dvd Playback so this means that possibly memorex and tdk dvds are made at the same plant, or usually when defectives do go out, they go out in bulk, meaning all dvd-r's from Tech Support Guy is completely free -- paid for by advertisers and donations.

Yes, my 15 years old Pioneer CD player (deck) doesn't even care about audio protection and just plays the CD with superb clarity and doesn't stop in any data track even Try Sony, Taiyo Yuden, or Verbatim. Dvd Player Keeps Freezing It is very important that they follow your advice to stop backgrond tasks.

I have a feeling Apple avoided that in order to make iDVD more consumer friendly. But the movies still skipped on two different DVD players.I then transfered the .img file to the other MacBook 2.0 GHz (which burns at x1, x2 and x4) and burned with Log in or register to post comments 02/01/2006 - 4:22pm Permalink svhs Last seen: 11 years 10 months ago Joined: 03/26/2005 - 1:08am The bitrate you choose must not be higher Who, do you think, is to blame in my case?
Rest of the DVD worked. --------------------------------------------- Same problem today, but it wouldn't play the 1st clip. yesterdays, the 2nd clip popped up when running the dvd, with 'can not play' used the dvd player menu and jumped past that clip. I would suggest taking a look at these disks. But it played the whole way through!!

Friend mentioned about having a clean H/D and setting writer as MASTER, so i reformated P.C and put PIONEER 104 on own IDE and since then have had very few problems. Those same discs play fine in my friend's Toshiba SD-K610. Louis Your mortgage is not my problem.
Well just a few minutes ago i copied the one messed up film from the dvd-rw and tried to reburn it again, no dice same problem. Its most pronounced in the clips containing motion, either panning the camera or moving objects. I had a 10 minute slide show on the DVD that I was willing to part with in hopes of finally getting this to work. I got the Princo media from www.shop4tech.com they seem to have a few other cheap brands as well, has anybody tried them?
