Please post a message if you find an answer. I can't re-install windows xp because all of a sudden I can't find the disk that came with dell. It stayed in!!! Is it just being overworked? http://webtrekkie.com/dvd-player/dvd-tray-will-not-stay-in.php

Haven't tried burning any disks though. gets "confused"? Cd Drive Won't Close The only device info I can see for the drive is DH16AAL, I don't know if that's a model no. Pedro Sousa, Apple hardware is not all that reliable in and of itself. surprised..

I've also seen laptop drives which randomly eject when the drive is spun up at max speed, but I've not opened one and had a look. My other guess is voltage problems, but I would think that the rest of your system would be affected also. It is basicly made by the same manufacturer in order to make it work together better (I give them props for that), but it is not better in and of itself.

I got an error and a request to load a disk in the drive. I fixed it by takeing the drive out, taking off the front cover to the drive, then put it back on. After a few seconds the drive gives up and ejects the tray. i'm very frustrated and am wondering if i need to purchase a new disc drive? I'm half assuming it's the hardware, but i know how nuts windows can act after not being shut down properly and just powered off. Robooted both the drive and the MBA but no avail!Then I tried it using Remote Disk from a Windows PC (of all things).

I have been able to install SL after 4 hours of attempts. So, if any of you has any advice, it would be much appreciated. It was as advertised again. Thank you =) --- What mods are active that I can PM my concerns to?
