They're very easy to replace. If I keep re-inserting the new data CD, it sometimes reads it and will spin the disc up to speed. Note that smoke and laser lenses do not mix, so if the user is a smoker, that's the issue for sure.Note that some drives read certain types of CD-ROM media better It CAN READ CDs, it CAN'T BURN CDs, it CAN'T READ DVDs and CAN'T BURN DVDs.
