DVD Drive Has Mind Of Its Own!
Im sure it's something so simple I'd never think of it, or maybe already time for a new drive. It turned out that the batteries on my wireless keyboard were about to die. The other one, works perfectly fine. 6 months later and the drive with a mind of its own is still disconnected because I never found a solution. Several functions may not work. I think my CD/DVD drive is possessed! For example, when I logged in this morning it started opening and closing, I restarted and it stopped opening and closing, but the drive did not show up in System Profiler.
I google it and it most likly points to a virus or malware, but i JUST got it back up and running, and with full Avast, Spybot Malware, and Hijack this. - All came back empty, before i stored it i ran them all in safe mode with networking all shut off.

At times leaving the disc in the drive for a few hours and when I check then it works perfectly fine. This is particularly worrying as without it, the only means of backup is a floppy drive unless I buy a USB thumbdrive to transfer to another computer. The games are anno 2070 and Coh2. If the issue follows the drive I would expect a malfunction with the drive & replace it.
Anyone else have advise on this issue, it would be VERY appreciated, like how do i stop it?
I unplugged the data cable about 72 hours ago and i have had NO random ejects. if the drive continues to act up, it is an internal fault with the drive. I think my CD/DVD drive is possessed! Unplug it from the PSU?
Never had this happen before, but the DVD drive has gained a mind of its own! Any recommendations to fix this behavior? Virus and Trojan detection programs can only detect what they were instructed to look for by that code being implemented into the programs code detection, which are called definitions.
