Maybe your Bios had a hiccup and is not recognising the CD ROM. __________________ . . I was at my wit's end to solve this UNTIL I STUMBLED ON THIS SOLUTION. Reboot your PC. If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete 6.

Also, sometimes it may happen that it shows up but is unable to play the files in CD/DVD. Thanks to you I did what you ask to do and I resolve my problem. If yes, try changing it or try removing and then adding it again. Once I remove the media, the CD ROM drive will disappear from the folder tree.

I suspect that a rollback from WIn11 (which I did after the system misbehaved a few months ago after installation of Win11) may be at the root of the problem.
